Tommy Shelby , M.P. , O.B.E , D.S.O. an outwardly respectable politician and man of the people, is the Patriarch of the notorious Peaky Blinders, a criminal organisation that controls Birmingham , Britain’s second largest city , in the 1920s. It is a place where there are more guns than Chicago, and unemployed men, hardened by the horrors of The Great War, capable of using them. All seems well , until Wall Street crashes and overnight almost all of the family’s entire fortune is wiped out due to the rash decisions made by his cousin Michael , in direct defiance of Tommy’s orders. Michael’s new wife, Gina, who’s family is highly connected to the American criminal underworld, sees the Shelby empire ripe for takeover, with Michael as a puppet king. However, their plans end with Michael framed and fearing for his life, and Gina’s very public humiliation, which will send a clear message to those who threaten the Shelby’s… No-one messes with the Peaky Fucking Blinders!
